Terms & Conditions
Okay, here is the legal bit! We've tried to put our Terms and Conditions in plain English - hopefully it won't be a chore reading them! Any purchase from our site implies acceptance of our terms.
As we produce applications for Schools and for Businesses, Clubs and Teams, we have separate terms and conditions for these groups. The biggest difference is the method of payment accepted. For schools, we accept payment by Debit or Credit Cards (through PayPal) and School Purchase Order. For businesses, clubs and teams, we only accept payment in advance through our website by Debit or Credit Cards (through PayPal). There are other slight differences so we've split our T&Cs into sections! We know it's boring, but please read them before ordering!
Additional payment options may be available depending on your circumstances. Please contact us before ordering if you are unsure.
App Development for Schools
We (Angel Applications) will consult with you (the school) over your exact needs. Once an agreement has been reached regarding the design of your app(s) a contract will exist between us. We will develop your app(s) and submit it to the relevant store for approval. Once your app has been approved, we will invoice your school for any remaining balance (unless you have paid in full at the checkout using PayPal).
In order to get your app through the approval process, we may need to modify your app by adding extra features such as external RSS Feeds. If this is necessary, we will let you know and give you the opportunity to suggest appropriate content.
Each app will have the following functionality:
iPhone App/iPad App
- 4 categories of feeds relating to school (we will ask you to choose these during the consultation process);
- Up to 2 external feeds (BBC Education and your Local Education Authority) - These feeds may be subject to change due to licensing agreements;
- The ability to contact your school and locate it on a map;
- Compatibility for iPhone 5 (new clients only);
- Additional functionality as required to pass Apple Approval system.
Android App
- 4 categories of feeds relating to school (we will ask you to choose these during the consultation process);
- The ability to contact your school and locate it on a map;
- Up to 2 external feeds (BBC Education and your Local Education Authority) - These feeds may be subject to change due to licensing agreements;;
Nokia App
- These are no longer available.
Which apps you get, depends upon the package you choose. The content of external feeds is beyond our control. In some cases e.g. where a Local Authority does not have an RSS feed, we will offer alternatives.
We are happy to negotiate precise bespoke features - often, no further charge is made for these features. Please contact us for an exact price.
We will offer an update service on your app(s). Annually, we will contact you to offer an update on your app for the fixed price of £49. You are not obliged to purchase an updated app.
Your RSS Feed
We will set up a WordPress blog for you and host it on our server. We will use your school's colour scheme and logos. By updating your RSS feed, the news will be passed to your app(s). All our staff are CRB checked.
We can provide you with a guide in PDF format for updating your RSS feed and make your aware of useful free tools to speed up and simplify the adding of news items.
We will integrate this feed into your website or VLE but will need access to your account in order to do this. Alternatively, we will supply instructions for you to do it yourself.
Twitter and Facebook
If you choose our Platinum Package, we will set up a Twitter and Facebook page for your school. If your school already has these, we will advise on how to streamline your news delivery so that one update will reach your app(s), your Twitter and your Facebook page as well as your website or VLE. In order to do this, we will use third-party web-based tools.
Cancellation
You are free to cancel our producing your App until the agreement has been reached regarding the development of your app. Once we have commenced work on your app, you are unable to cancel the agreement.
Should circumstances beyond our control prevent us from being able to get your app approved, we will not invoice your school (or we will refund any monies paid - if appropriate).
We reserve the right to cancel the project should your request exceed the capability of our developers. However, this only applies to our Bespoke Package.
Software and Publications
Your statutory rights apply in regard to the purchasing of these products. We will accept returns should the products be defective or not perform as described.
Data Protection
We will use your data to fulfill any orders. We may also contact you with offers from ourselves that may be of interest. Should you not wish to receive these communications, you may opt out at any time.
Under no circumstances, will we share your information with any third party.
Compatibility
Our software will have minimum system requirements. Our iPhone apps will run on iOS 5.0 and above (should you require backwards compatibility, please tell us at the point of order), our Android apps will run on Android 2.2 and above. As newer operating systems are announced, we may need to change these minimum specifications.
Our Branded Apps
Apps that we produce and sell through the Apple App Store are subject to Apple's iTunes Terms and Conditions.
App Development for Businesses, Teams and Clubs
We (Angel Applications) will consult with you (the business, team or club - from this point on referred to as 'the organisation') over your exact needs. Once an agreement has been reached regarding the design of your app(s) and payment has been received, a contract will exist between us. We will develop your app(s) and submit it to the relevant store for approval. We will only submit any apps to the relevant stores once full payment has been received.
In order to get your app through the approval process, we may need to modify your app by adding extra features such as external RSS Feeds. If this is necessary, we will let you know and give you the opportunity to suggest appropriate content.
Our apps will be bespoke to meet the needs of your business, club or industry. Quotes provided will be valid for 30 days following the quotation.
We will offer an update service on your app(s). Annually, we will contact you to offer an update on your app for the fixed price of £49. You are not obliged to purchase an updated app.
Bespoke Service
We will provide a quote based upon your app requirements. This will be based on the information you give us. You are not obliged to place an order after receiving a quote. The quote will be valid for the app to which it applies. Should your requirements change significantly after we have accepted the order, we will endeavour to accommodate your changes. However, should there be an additional charge, we will let you know in advance and give you the option to revert back to your initial specification.
Your RSS Feed
If requested, we will set up a WordPress blog for you and host it on our server. We will use your organisation's colour scheme and provide you with the log in details required to update RSS feeds and customise the blog. By updating your RSS feed, the news will be passed to your app(s).
We can provide you with a guide in PDF format for updating your RSS feed and make your aware of useful free tools to speed up and simplify the adding of news items. Please contact us should you require assistance.
Twitter and Facebook

Cancellation
Once payment has been made, we will commence the creation of your application. This wil often be on the same day as the order is placed. Therefore, the normal distance selling cancellation regulations will not apply. However, if you inform us of your wish to cancel the order prior to our commencing the project and before the end of 7 days since placing the order, we will refund all monies paid.
In the event of us agreeing to create your application before payment is made, you may cancel without charge prior to us commencing work on your application. In the event of us commencing work on your application, you will be liable of 50% of the quoted cost to cover any work done.
Should circumstances beyond our control prevent us from being able to get your app approved, we will refund any monies paid. However, we are usually able to make small changes to apps to ensure approval.
We reserve the right to cancel the project should your request exceed the capability of our developers.
